Benefits Access.org is the participant account management website, designed to help manage General Board-administered retirement accounts. Visit www.benefitsaccess.org to view:

Plan Account—Review General Board-administered retirement plan account balances, transactions, investment returns and allocations, and more.

Retirement Projections—See estimates of General Board-administered accounts projected to a future retirement date with the Retirement Benefits Projection, or see your expected retirement income needs compared to your projected retirement income with the Retirement Readiness Tool.

Financial Education—Articles on subjects related to account management and retirement planning under “Learn More.”

Electronic Delivery Options—Access account statements and Hark newsletter issues online. Electronic delivery is fast, easy and safe. It protects sensitive information from identity theft and preserves the environment.
 

Account Registration

Register for Benefits Access—follow these steps to set up a new account:

  1. Go to www.benefitsaccess.org.
  2. Click “New User Registration” and follow the prompts.
  3. A success message will appear. Click the link to proceed to the Benefits Access homepage; to use the Retirement Readiness Tool, click on the book; to navigate to other site content, use the tabs.

Registration Tips

  • If you do not have a PIN or can’t remember your PIN, it must be mailed to you. Follow the steps in “New User Registration” or call 1-800-851-2201 to request a PIN. Allow five to seven business days for delivery.
  • Consider using your personal e-mail address for Benefits Access; then you won’t miss important communications if you change appointments/employers.
  • Choose electronic (paperless) delivery. Electronic delivery provides greater security for account statements, and demonstrates environmental stewardship.
  • If the Web pages are not displaying correctly in Internet Explorer 9, run Benefits Access in “Compatibility View.” The Compatibility View button is located in the toolbar, normally next to the “Refresh” button.

Site Navigation

The Benefits Access homepage has four tabs—My Benefits, Take Action, Learn More and Find Resources—providing account information, educational resources and other features. An overview of each tab follows.

My Benefits

  • Personal Profile—View contact information, electronic delivery preferences, beneficiaries, service and compensation details, and user preferences.
  • Retirement Benefits—Review account summary, investment fund holdings and performance, LifeStage Investment Management Service settings (election, target mix, profile), personal and plan sponsor contributions, transaction history and past statements.
  • Project Future Values—Run a projection using either the Retirement Readiness Tool or Retirement Benefits Projection. Compute a monthly retirement income amount that has a good likelihood of lasting your lifetime by using the LifeStage Retirement Income Calculator.

Take Action

  • Update Personal Data—Change contact information, username, password, security questions, beneficiary designations, EY authorization and electronic delivery election.
  • Manage Investments—Change LifeStage Personal Investment Profile; change the investment of your current balance or future contributions; export your transaction history; view pending actions; or model/request a loan.
  • Project Future Values—Run a projection using either the Retirement Readiness Tool or Retirement Benefits Projection. Compute a monthly retirement income amount with a good likelihood of lasting your lifetime by using the LifeStage Retirement Income Calculator.
  • Manage Distributions—Apply online for benefits from the Clergy Retirement Security Program (CRSP), Ministerial Pension Plan (MPP), Pre-82 Plan or Collins Pension Plan; sign up for LifeStage Retirement Income or Self-Managed Retirement Income; take a withdrawal/distribution from your defined contribution retirement account; view your annuity details; or review all available benefits at-a-glance if you have both defined benefit (e.g., CRSP DB, Pre-82, MPP) and defined contribution accounts (e.g., United Methodist Personal Investment Plan [UMPIP]).

  • Know Your Benefits—Information about the General Board-administered retirement plans (CRSP, MPP, Pre-82, Retirement Plan for General Agencies (RPGA), UMPIP, Horizon 401(k) Plan and Collins); HealthFlex; or welfare plans (UMLifeOptions or Comprehensive Protection Plan [CPP]).
  • Focus on Your Goals—Articles about various aspects of saving, investing and retirement planning.
  • Access Retirement Savings—Articles about distribution options for retirement accounts and reasons to leave your money on account at the General Board when you retire.

BAapp02 The General Board offers a Benefits Access Mobile App for on-the-go access to your accounts. It is designed for Apple iPhone®, iPad®, iPod touch® and Android™ smartphone users. Simply download* the free Benefits Access Mobile App from the App Store℠ (Apple devices) or from Google Play™ (Android smartphones), and log in with your existing username and password.

Through a series of easy-to-touch-and-read screens, you can view:

  • Account balances and recent activity
  • Contribution rates and summary
  • Investments and allocations
  • LifeStage targeted investments
  • Current rates of return
  • Loan balances

If you haven’t registered for Benefits Access, you must do so before using the mobile app. To register, visit www.benefitsaccess.org and select “New User Registration,” then follow the prompts to set up your account.
