The Journey

The Journey presents three stories of people whose life experiences have been touched by the work of the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits. Viewers are taken first to a church in Georgia to share the experience of an Atlanta pastor who was diagnosed with cancer. The second story transports the audience to Detroit, where investments made by the General Board helped convert run-down buildings into affordable housing for homeless people. The final story focuses on the surviving wife and young son of a Massachusetts pastor who found not only financial, but emotional support from conference and General Board staff. The theme is one of assurance that, as throughout the history of the denomination, the General Board continues to accompany its clergy and lay participants in their journeys through life. Available in VHS.
