Denominational Health Task Force—Video

General Conference 2004 directed the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits to examine the feasibility of a unified—mandatory—health plan for all U.S. conferences of The United Methodist Church. A Denominational Health Task Force was assembled to undertake the charge. The Task Force research brought new dimensions of health to light—confirming through surveys and studies that, in some ways, clergy are not as healthy as the general population. The Task Force findings and the conclusions drawn from them, resulted in four recommendations addressing clergy and lay employee health in support of the mission and ministry of the Church. This video highlights the four recommendations with interviews from Task Force members.
