Virgin HealthMiles— A Healthier 2009!

Friday, January 30, 2009

New Year's resolutions often include plans to lose weight and get fit, but making a resolution and actually doing something to improve your health are two entirely different things. To help you down the path toward better fitness, HealthFlex and the Center for Health are pleased to introduce the Virgin HealthMiles physical activity program.

As a participant in the program, you will receive a free pedometer to help track your progress toward health goals and rewards. "HealthMiles" are our version of reward points, and you earn them by tracking your daily activity, taking regular health measurements and demonstrating improvement in your overall health and fitness levels.

HealthMiles translate into "HealthCash," which can be redeemed for gift cards to popular national retailers like Target and Best Buy. You can also opt to send a check to yourself or your favorite charity. Participants can earn up to $300 over a 12-month period, all while becoming healthier.

Beginning January 1, 2009, all HealthFlex participants and covered spouses in active plans and Medicare Companion Plans are eligible for Virgin HealthMiles. The program is offered for no out-of-pocket costs to participants or plan sponsors. Log into the HealthFlex/WebMD Web site, visit VirginHealthMiles.com or talk to your plan sponsor for more information.

Conferences and participants who are not enrolled in HealthFlex will have the opportunity to participate in the Virgin HealthMiles physical activity program later in 2009. Details will be available in the coming months.
