Renew ‘U’niversity is About ‘You!’

When asked “How are you?” do you instinctively answer “Fine.” However, if you reflected on your mental, physical and spiritual health, would you have answered differently?

Earn Continuing Education Units!

Participants are now eligible to earn 1.5 continuing education units (CEUs) at the conclusion of Renew "U"niversity.

Do you actually need:

  • some time to refresh,
  • spiritual renewal,
  • a social life outside the Church, and
  • a better working relationship with your church?

Is the vitality of your ministry diminished? Is it demanding too much actually and decreasing your effectiveness, your health or your family relationships?

It can be challenging to strike a balance between the responsibilities of your role and your personal needs. If you are like many other servant-leaders, you may neglect your own well-being in service to others. Your life may revolve so much around the needs of your congregation, church, family or other responsibilities, that you have forgotten about “you.”

Renew “U”niversity was created to help individuals like yourself find balance—supporting others while also prioritizing personal well being. Renew “U”niversity events have several components that help you refresh, revive and renew “you.”

  • Presentations and group discussions will teach you why self-care must be a high priority.
  • Individual and group activities will help you to prioritize your needs.
  • Opportunities for personal reflection help refresh and revive you.
  • Post Event Life coaching, offered after the event is over, provides the opportunity for continued learning and guidance, and helps you to apply lessons learned during the sessions.

After you register, the Center for Health will contact you via e-mail and ask you to complete the Healthy Dimensions Assessment (HDA). This pre-workshop assessment only takes 30 minutes to complete, and it will help you personally evaluate the five dimensions of health and wellness that will be discussed at Renew “U”niversity.

If you have questions, contact us by e-mail at umc-centerforhealthinfo@gbop.org.
