New ordinands, mid-career clergy, ready-to-retire clergy, district superintendents, clergy in extension ministries of the local church...you are invited!

The General Board of Pension and Health Benefits of The United Methodist Church invites active clergy members of the:

• Holston Conference,
• North Georgia Conference,
• Red Bird Missionary Conference,
• South Carolina Conference, and the
• Western North Carolina Conference,

to attend the 2009 Clergy Benefits Academy.

Date: October 5-7, 2009

Place: Lake Junaluska, North Carolina

By attending, you will:

• learn how to care for your financial, emotional and physical well-being with age-focused coursework;
• gain knowledge and information necessary to make confident decisions about your own personal situation;
• have an opportunity to participate in one-on-one consultations and get answers to your personal questions from a knowledgeable General Board staff member; and
• earn continuing education units (CEUs).

Hotel Information

The General Board has negotiated room rates at the host hotel:

Special room rate: $81.00 plus tax per night

Note: Making the hotel reservation and paying for hotel accommodations are the responsibilities of the attendee. Please tell the hotel you are attending the Clergy Benefits Academy to obtain the negotiated rate.

Registration

Register for only $99 ($169.00 with spouse) by August 28, 2009. Registration after this date is $129.00 ($199.00 with spouse). The registration fee includes:

• breakfast and lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday,
• refreshment breaks, and
• Academy materials.

Day Care Information

The General Board of Pension and Health Benefits does not provide on-site day care but will provide a 50% discount on an additional hotel room for a child care provider (grandparent, friend, etc.). Call Anne Green (1-800-269-2244, ext. 4560) for more details.
